In this session Shamblesguru [Chris Smith] will spend about 20-30 minutes sharing just a few of the 1,500 that are on his iPad.
During this time we’ll also look at some of the options to display an iPad on a projector screen or on an external monitor or mirroring the teachers iPad onto student iPads.
After this initial start to the session all attendees are invited to share their own favourite iPad Apps … in any of the areas of productivity, teaching, learning, fun or life style.

As the National Gallery of Victoria is holding a webinar at the same time as the usual Tech Talk Tuesday sessions, it has been decided to participate in their innovative webinars as part of Tech Talk Tuesday.  It is wonderful to see community institutions such as the National Gallery of Victoria conducting webinars for educationalists.  I would like to support them in this venture and encourage people who would normally attend Tech Talk Tuesday to see how exciting these online sessions can be as organised by the NGV.

Monet’s Garden: The Musée Marmottan Monet,Paris is the winter exhibition at the Art Gallery  from May 10th to Sept 8th. This webinar is for primary art and classroom teachers presenting a range of art and cross-curricular learning activities for the classroom. This session includes an introductory talk providing contextual information about the work and life of Claude Monet and an outline of school-based activities designed for a specific year level including

• Ideas for visual art making activities, including materials, media and procedure
• Descriptions and ideas for cross-curricular activities which have been designed to complement/relate to the themes being explored in the art room

About this session: Last Tuesday we looked at google document as a tool for engaging students. Participants also shared the names of tools that they had experienced. This second session in this series will enable participants to share their favourite tools and step us through them. We will then use  our collective intelligence and experience to brainstorm how these can be successfully used for learning.

Come along and if possible bring along a favourite tool, share it with us and push innovation further. Where possible the tool will be stepped through and a collective document created to capture our knowledge.

About this session:- Anne Mirtschin will lead a discussion on engaging students with technology. Discussion may centre around the following:-

• is engagement in learning important?
• what impact does it have on learning
• how do we know when students are engaged – how does it look, feel and sound?
• Sharing tools that participants have found to work
• Looking at google apps, starting with google document and how it can be used for collaborative learning, sharing, engagement etc. This has been one of my favourite tools.
